Benelli’s Performance Shop faced a formidable challenge when we asked it to customize our already legendary SBE 3 semi-automatic shotgun for serious waterfowlers. They began by crafting an oversized bolt handle and enlarged bolt release to accommodate hunters wearing gloves. A HIVIZ® CompSight® was added for a better sight picture in low light. The forcing cone was lengthened and polished, and three Rob Roberts Triple Threat® choke tubes were provided to ensure superior patterns. In fact, SBE3 Waterfowl Edition models are test-fired with a computerized pattern analysis machine to verify consistent and even patterns.
BE.S.T. (Benelli Surface Treatment) coating provides corrosion and abrasion resistance that is superior to any other firearm finish on the market.
A large bolt-cocking handle and a longer, wider bolt-release lever make the Waterfowl Edition shotguns easier to manipulate even when wearing bulky, cold-weather gloves.

Comfort Tech™ was the first of its kind. By splitting the stock diagonally and utilizing shock-absorbing chevrons, the entire stock was essentially turned into a recoil pad. This chevron system, now 13 years old, is still the most efficient design possible, and was the basis for the SBE 3 stock. The chevron size and location has been optimized on Comfort Tech 3. Furthermore, Benelli engineers have developed a new cheek comb pad, Combtech, which greatly reduces facial impact and vibrations.
